This was the second house we designed on the same street. This and the house next door were the first of its kind of development in the Lakeview neighbourhood, but soon started a trend of modern construction and served as an example of progressive architecture for the neighbours to follow. The 3,200 square foot house features ten to eleven foot ceilings, open space planning, and a central atrium with high ceilings and ribbon windows which brings in natural light into the centre of the house. The large floor-to-ceiling windows and doors also make the interior spaces brighter and provide inspiring views into the greenery of the neighbourhood. The large sliding doors in the back of the house open into the outsized deck space, which features an outdoor fireplace. The family room also presents a fireplace and is part of a bundle including the modern kitchen and dining space. The master bedroom contains two large walk in closets, 5 piece master ensuite, and also opens into a decked balcony which has its own gas fireplace. The house fits three more bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor.
The house also showcases sustainable features such as solar powered heating, radiant heated bamboo flooring and a home automation system that controls the electrical, security and media centres. Mississauga City officials recognized and awarded this house for its environmental features along with its neighbouring property which was also designed by Epic Designs Inc.
