The Playter Residence is a renovation pretending to be a new build... but don't let anyone know we told you!

The scope of work was to convert an existing 2 1/2 story home into a full 3 story home with a new addition complete with a flat roof to create a more contemporary feeling rear elevation.

The home's facade was modernized, but we decided to maintain key traditional architectural features to create a healthy balance between old and new. A new roof profile was chosen for the front to create visual interest along with a new dormer that allows the home to read as a cohesive member of the existing architectural character in the neighborhood.   

The interior features rich finishes with great attention to detail from the home's builder, Buildcrest. Dark painted accent walls and black metal grating in the kitchen compliment large oak panelling that strongly contribute to the home's homogeneous interior material palette.
